Sitting On a Call To Action
There's constant speculation surrounding the current and future actors playing The Doctor on Doctor Who. Ever since Matt Smith took the role, people have wondered how long he'll stay on. Yesterday, it was confirmed that he will indeed be back next season and that is great news for Who fans. Smith has taken the reigns of The Doctor and has never looked back. People were skeptical on whether he could follow David Tennant, but he's more than followed him. He is The Doctor.
Matt Smith will officially take over the reins of Doctor Who from David Tennant next year, but with filming already taking place, fans have been able to get a sneak peak at the new Doctor and with him the new TARDIS. More pictures can be seen on the Daily Mail's Web site.
If you've stumbled across this blog, you'll see that I post mostly about my favorite sports teams: the Saints, Hornets, Braves and LSU. But you'll also see that I'm a huge Lost fan, so during the season I post recaps of episodes. The blog has also expanded to my other interests, including Doctor Who.
Matt Smith was named the 11th Doctor this weekend. He'll be taking over the TARDIS for David Tennant in 2010 and at age 26, he'll be the youngest actor ever to play the Doctor. Other than that, I do not know much about him.
There's been a ton of speculation as to who would replace David Tennant as the Doctor on Doctor Who, almost as soon as Tennant took the role a few years ago. Now all the speculation as to when Tennant will actually leave the series can come to an end, as he himself has confirmed that the 2009 specials will be his last as the Doctor.
