The Eve of the NFL Draft

It's been one of the most uncertain offseasons in history and the past week has been part of the craziness. The lockout was lifted, but was it really? Nothing really changed and everyone's still waiting to see what judges and courts say before the league year begins. Fans just want to see football, and having free agency and trades take place around the draft is what everyone except the NFL wants.

Regardless of what the courts rule this week, the draft will still take place Thursday. The Saints are said to be looking for help on defense, specifically front seven help. There are some surprises in the mock draft universe, some thinking the Saints will look for running back help, others feel the team will target a new offensive lineman.

NFL Releases Schedule

For what it's worth, the NFL released the schedule for the upcoming season, if there is one. The exciting news for Saints fans is that the team will play in the Thursday night opener for the second year in a row, this time against the defending Super Bowl champion Packers. It will be a tough way to open the season, but hopefully the Saints become the first visiting team to knock off the champs in the opener.
