Hornets Dream Season Comes to an End

The Hornets fell to the Spurs in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals, ending their season. What a season it has been for the Hornets! Basketball was revived in the Big Easy, Chris Paul put himself in the discussion for MVP, the Hornets set a team record for victories and won their first ever Southwest Division Title.

Unfortunately, losing in Game 7 at home leaves a bad taste in your mouth. The Hornets killed the Spurs in Games 1 & 2 and looked to be on their way to routing San Antonio. The only problem, the Hornets could not win on the road. Coming into Game 7, the home team had won every game of the series. The Spurs were the defending champs and took care of business against a tentative Hornets team.

Before this series, analysts questioned the Hornets experience. Were they ready for this stage? Apparently not. They failed on the road and ultimately didn't handle the Game 7 pressure very well.

But on the bright side, the future is more than bright for this club. The team will return mostly in tact next year with playoff experience. They'll likely add another piece or two to the squad and make a run at the playoff again next year.

As long as Chris Paul is in the Big Easy, the Hornets will be NBA title contenders.
