LSU's opening week victory against Washington wasn't pretty, but a win's a win. Washington exposed that LSU still has issues on defense and fans didn't get to see heralded freshman Russell Sheppard take the field. The running game never really got going and the offensive line wasn't able to open up holes. Other than that, there's nothing to worry about.

Well this week, LSU gets a chance to show improvement at home against a conference opponent, if Vandy even counts as an SEC foe these days. Playing in front of 92,000+ Tiger fans for the first time this season should be enough by itself to give the Tigers the victory. Look for them to showcase some of their newcomers like Sheppard and be out to prove that the defense is improved.
