The Saints have a chance to set themeselves up as one of the top teams in the NFC if they can take care of the Eagles this weekend on the road. The Eagles are expected to be without starting quarterback Donavan McNabb, so the Saints will go against a quarterback making his first career start for the second week in a row with Kevin Kolb expected to start.
The Saints offense looked even better than the #1 ranked unit of last year in the team's week one game against Detroit. Mike Bell showed that the team can run the ball, and Drew Brees is still playing like he's part of a video game with a career high 6 touchdown passes.
The Saints defense actually looked better than the final score indicated and look for them to be more aggressive against the Eagles. The players claimed that they were running a "vanilla" version of their scheme and that's all they needed against the Lions. This week should be a tougher test.
Last week, Reggie Bush played one of his worst games as a Saint. Look for him to get involved early and often this week to show that he's still the playmaker Sean Payton needs him to be. He'll also remember the big hit Sheldon Brown gave him in the playoffs a few years ago and will likely want to show Eagles fans that he's not scared to go across the middle.
Prediction:
Saints 28
Eagles 24
