Top Chef: New York

One of, if not the best reality shows returned to TV this week for their 5th season, Top Chef: New York. This is probably my favorite reality show and even though it was the first episode, you can't help but be drawn in by it.

There were 17 new chefs battling it out this year, but at the end of the episode, 15 remained. One chef was eliminated after the quickfire and another was gone after the elimination challenge. The early season challenges are always fun because the contestants are feeling each other out and trying to see who will be their stiffest competition.

Stefan looks to be an early favorite as he won both the Quick Fire and Elimination Challenges. His attitude isn't going to make him a fan favorite, but remember that both Marcel and Hung weren't the most loved contestants, and they both made it to the finals with Hung winning Season 3.

With this year's show being in New York, Top Chef promises to be bigger and better than ever. Seasons 3 & 4 were both the best of the series for me, so this year's competition has a lot to live up to, but they're off to a good start.
